Research Interests: I am currently studying the mechanisms by which HIV drug therapies exacerbate HIV-associated atherosclerosis. Clinical studies have revealed that cardiovascular complications are significantly elevated in HIV patients receiving antiretroviral therapy, even in relatively young patients. I am interested in examining mechanisms by which these drugs induce endothelial dysfunction, which is considered an important event and early marker for atherosclerosis.
